Exterior Waterproofing Defects

Your home should be constructed according to the applicable building codes and in a manner to keep water from entering your home.  The entire exterior of your home should be water tight, from the roof to the foundation, from the doors to the windows, and all of the stucco in between.  The roof should be properly designed and constructed utilizing appropriate waterproofing under the tiles or shingles.  The stucco should be properly mixed and applied at code-required thickness over competently installed building paper.  The windows and doors must be properly flashed and sealed.  The foundation should be waterproofed against the moisture in the soil.  Sub-terrean masonry must be properly waterproofed to block water intrusion from ground water and moisture.  Exterior waterproofing is a big deal; waterproofing failure will cause water intrusion which will lead to mold growth and contamination that will affect your ability to safely live in your home.

If you have noticed water intrusion into your home through the roof, around your windows, doors, and walls, through masonry walls, or through the foundation, action should be taken right away to protect your home and family.  Repairs are expensive.  Don't attempt to deal with the builder on your own.  Contact Judd J. Balmer, Esq., Ltd., right away to protect your home, your rights, and your family.
