Insulation Defects

Insulation regulates the flow of heat inside a home. A properly insulated house will retain warmth in the winter and be cooler in the summer.  Insulation is measured by its "R-flow", its resistance to heat. The higher the R-flow, the better insulated the house.  As much as 70 percent of energy used in your home comes from heating and cooling. A properly insulated home reduces the amount of energy used, saving you money.  An improperly insulated home can cost you thousands of dollars, thwart your ability to control your home's interior environment, and largely affect your quality of life in the home.

Insulation defects include use of the wrong "R-flow" insulation, failure to insulate all required areas of your home's walls, ceilings, and attic, and failure to use enough insulation in areas of your home.  Your inability to comfortably heat or cool areas of your home is a symtpom that the insulation in your home may have been inadequately installed or is deficient in its R-flow value or was omitted in areas of your home altogether.  Your home may also be suffering from defects in your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system (HVAC) as well.

If you are having problems cooling or heating your home or maintaining comfortable temperatures, or if your power bills seem inordinately high, you may have insulation defects.  Proper investigation by a knowledgeable professional will determine the nature and extent of your insulation defects and will help determine the cause of your insulation defects.  You deserve a home free of defects.
